QSW – CHILDRENS SOCIAL WORKER
Job Description
About the Role:
Liverpool City are seeking experienced and passionate Children’s Social Workers to join our Permanence Teams, working with Children in Care and Looked After Children. You will be part of a service focused on achieving stability, permanence, and positive long-term outcomes for children and young people.
We are looking for social workers with strong relationship-building skills, a methodical approach to care and placement planning, and the ability to minimise risk while ensuring the voice of the child is central to all decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality casework for children in care and those on the edge of permanence
- Undertake direct work with children and young people to ensure their voices are heard and their needs met
- Develop and maintain care plans that reflect individual needs and secure long-term stability
- Monitor, review, and support placements to ensure they are safe, appropriate, and enduring
- Work closely with partner agencies, carers, and families to improve outcomes
- Use a strengths-based, child-centred approach in all areas of practice
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s statutory services
- Strong expertise in Children in Care / Looked After Children
- Proven ability to manage risk and undertake complex assessments
- Excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills
- Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle
