Senior Internal Communications Officer
Harrow
£250.00 per day PAYE + 28 days holiday (£65,000.00 per annum)

Role
- Reporting into the Head of Communications, you will be a key player in the Council’s Communications function
- Develop, implement and evaluate integrated communications strategies and solutions to promote and support Harrow’s services, policies and objectives, manage reputation, change behaviour and promote resident engagement.
- Uphold and promote the reputation of Harrow Council in traditional and digital media
- Advise senior officers, members, colleagues and external partners on a range of reputational and communications issues
- Work with senior officers and senior councillors, including the Leader and Portfolio Holders on public affairs and lobbying campaigns
- Contribute to the communications teams’ income generation targets
- Answer media enquiries in a timely fashion and effectively use the media to promote Council services, policies and objectives
- Play a key role in the production of high-quality promotional materials and Harrow’s main communications channels (internal and external) including the Harrow People magazine, MyHarrow enewsletter, social digital media, the website, intranet, yammer, and staff newsletter.
- Identify positive stories about the work of the council and its staff, through effective relationships across the Council and Members.
- Support/lead on the delivery of consultations corporately
- Act as the Council’s lead liaison with stakeholders’ communications teams
- Support the delivery of internal communications and staff engagement, reviewing staff feedback to assess the effectiveness of staff communications.
