Business Support Assistant – Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council
Job Description
About the Role As a Business Support Assistant, you’ll be central to keeping our services running smoothly. You’ll manage confidential information, support meetings, provide excellent customer service, and play a key role in ensuring our administration processes are efficient and effective. You will also assist with event planning, financial procedures, and support colleagues with ICT systems.
What We’re Looking For We are seeking candidates who can:
- Confidently manage day-to-day administrative tasks including post handling, diary management, minute taking, filing, and cash reconciliation.
- Use a range of computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, databases, email, and the internet).
- Adapt to change and respond positively to new systems and procedures.
- Understand and apply GDPR/data protection in the workplace.
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines while ensuring attention to detail.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in a multi-functional administrative support role.
- Effective communication and teamworking skills.
- Good numeracy, literacy, and ICT proficiency.
- Understanding of financial and audit procedures.
Desirable
- Business Administration qualification (NQF Level 2 or equivalent).
- Experience in event coordination and providing system training.
