Housing Reviews and Complaints Officer
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire
Pay: £22.99 – £25.11 per hour
Working Pattern: Hybrid
We are seeking an experienced Housing Reviews Officer to join the Housing Operations team. This role is responsible for conducting thorough and legally compliant investigations into review requests made under Part 6 and Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and investigate statutory housing reviews under Part 6 (Allocations) and Part 7 (Homelessness).
- Conduct detailed assessments of case files, evidence, and representations.
- Liaise with applicants, legal representatives, housing officers, and external agencies as required.
- Prepare clear, well-reasoned, and legally robust decision letters.
- Ensure all review decisions are issued within statutory timescales and comply with current legislation and case law.
- Maintain accurate records and provide expert advice to colleagues on review matters.
Requirements
- Proven experience handling housing reviews under Part 6 and/or Part 7.
- Strong working knowledge of housing legislation and homelessness law.
- Experience drafting legally sound decision letters.
- Excellent written and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload and meet strict deadlines.
