Young Futures Officer- Drug & Alcohol Lead
Are you a passionate Young Futures Officer looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Young Futures Officer to work in a drug and alcohol service based in Dartford.
Pay Rates: £15.00 – £16.50 per hour umbrella
Information the Role: Successful candidates will be offered 37.5 hrs a week, weekends and bank holiday as per rota requirements.
What you will be doing:
- Provide a support service to residents living at the campus
- Support will include accessing training/employment, debt counselling, understanding occupation rights, welfare benefits, help in ensuring the safety and security of the dwelling, addressing social, cultural and religious needs of users
- Be the point of contact for advice, guidance and support to
- residents around drug and alcohol
- Carry out an assessment of the needs, abilities and preferences of referrals
- Carry out risk assessments to minimise risk for the resident, other residents and staff.
- Agree and implement with each resident, an individual support plan and deliver the support in accordance with this
- Where appropriate, work with/refer to other agencies in providing support
- Take the lead in the team to ensure that they and service keeps up to date with best practice in drug and alcohol support
- Be responsible for residents incoming sign-up experience and induction to the site
- Ensure that residents understand their occupancy agreements- Monitor and respond to any breaches of occupancy agreements
- Manage complaints and occupancy disputes
- Manage and maintain rent accounts in line with internal Rent and Arrears management processes.
 
Skills & Professional Characteristics needed:
- Awareness of trauma informed practice
- Understanding of the support needs of people with substance abuse problems
- Understanding of the challenges faced by children in care and young people
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding
- Ability to carry out effective needs and risk assessments and develop relevant support plans from these
- Understanding of Ofsted supported accommodation regulatory framework
Essential Requirements:
- A good basic level of numeracy and literacy skills.
- Level 3 qualification in field relevant to drugs and alcohol
