Outreach Engagement Officer – Manchester

Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applicants must have experience of working with people who use substances to dependent levels. Consideration will be given to applicants with outreach/support worker experience with people with complex mental health
  • To ensure all work is carried out in line with the appropriate guidelines, policy and procedures.
  • To promote independence and well being of adults of working age and/or older people: to assist social inclusion and valued community presence and to enable the widest possible expression of chosen lifestyle.
  • The candidate must be able to work with a chaotic stigmatized service user group making use of anti oppressive practice to challenge stigma and promote the needs of citizens you are working with.
  • You will work in a variety of settings Including working alongside treatment services and partners in Probation. This will include work with tier 4 services throughout the country.
  • You will be required to hold a caseload of diverse client primarily working towards the long term aim of abstinence and recovery, you will also where appropriate work with citizens who are change resistant providing direct  support.

Key Role Accountabilities:

  • Engage families to access the full range of services across the locality through actively promoting Sure Start services to the public with multi agency engagement through facilitating events and working frontline with families.
  • Work with families who have been identified as having targeted needs to improve the health and wellbeing and promote independence, making use of   Manchester Common Assessment Framework across the Early Years locality.
  • Identify child and parental need through undertaking evidence based assessments and using a range of other proven assessment tools and interventions. 
  • Evidence improved outcomes for children and families through tracking, monitoring and evaluating the impact of services, and contribute to the achievement of outcomes identified by the local analysis of need.  
  • Engage effectively with families through quality assured group based activities and tailored evidence based interventions for individual families within their own homes.
  • Ensure safeguarding is a priority and understand their responsibilities in the reporting procedures as outlined by the Manchester Children’s Safeguarding Board.

  • Through personal example, open commitment and clear action, ensure diversity is positively valued, resulting in equal access and treatment in service delivery and communication.
