Job Description

School-based Youth Justice Prevention Officer
Liverpool (based within a school but will also be expected to support YP and their families within the community)
06/01/2024 – 3 months initially
Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 35 hrs/week – Hybrid
  • Work with young people, parents and carers in school settings to improve young people’s engagement with education, improve attendance and support young people
  • Provide a range of services to courts, families, young offenders, young people at risk of offending, young people at risk of poor life choices, victims and the community
  • Assess, plan and deliver interventions according to the needs of young people and their families
  • Develop projects and activities with young people to enhance their skills, confidence, personal and social development
  • Work with stakeholders including schools, safeguarding teams, healthcare providers, CAMHS and the police to achieve best outcomes for children
  • Work with other agencies to maximise the resources and opportunities available for young people
  • Assist in the development and delivery of programmes of work with young people, both group and individual
  • Ensure the views and wishes of the young people are represented
  • Develop strong, trusting working relationships
  • Dealing with customer feedback, including complaints, and learning from feedback in the drive for continuous improvement
  • Record and maintain all work done
  • Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary
Requirements
  • UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
  • Experience of working with young people and their families
  • Experience of delivering group and individual programmes of work with young people
  • Experience of case management with young people
  • Knowledge of and experience of applying LCC Child Protection Procedures
  • Understanding of risk and safeguarding issues for young people
  • Excellent listening and assessment skills
  • Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service
