Are you a passionate Night Care officer looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Night Care officer to work within a children’s and education service based in Coventry
Pay Rates: £14.36 – £16.14 Umbrella
Information the Role: Successful candidates will be offered Ad Hoc work which shifts will be offered when they become available. The shift patterns can vary between the hours 7:00 till 22:00 and 22:00 till 7:00.
What you will be doing:
- To support a culture and ethos within the home where management and staff understand the importance of relationship-based practice to improve outcomes for children.
- To provide good quality care primarily through night time hours to young people, male and female aged 10-18 with a range of needs and behaviours that may include emotional and behavioural difficulties and/or a learning/physical disability, within a residential care setting.
- Ensuring the security of the home during night hours and that any health and safety procedures are activated, when necessary, e.g., fire evacuation.
- Contribute to the development, provision, and review of care planning, which meet individual needs and circumstances.
- Contributing towards the upkeep of the physical environment to ensure it is maintained in a safe and satisfactory condition.
- To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines as per directorate policy and procedure.
- To undertake and attain completion of a comprehensive induction within the first 6 months of employment and to actively engage in other relevant training and qualifications if identified as are pertinent to the post e.g., Administration of Medication, Safeguarding.
Skills & Professional Characteristics needed:
- An understanding of the needs of young people who come into care of the local authority.
- An understanding of what is required in providing good quality residential care to children and young people.
- Understanding of appropriate legislation, e.g., the Children’s Act, Leaving Care Act, Children’s Home Regulations [2015] and Safeguarding Procedures.
Essential Requirements:
- Knowledge of supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs and / or behaviours.
- Experience of working with older children / teenagers and their families or carers.
- Hold or undertake training to include: – the Residential Induction – the Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent and complete the qualification within 2 years from the point of employment.
