Job Description

Day Opportunities Worker - Adult Services 
Fulham
20/08/2024 – 3 months initially
Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.15pm, 36.15 hrs/week – Office based
  • Supporting older people and people with physical disabilities
  • Develop care plans and complete assessments based on need, implementing procedures
  • Providing personal care to residents
  • Assist with hoists and other equipment
  • Develop and facilitate a range of therapeutic group and individual activities
  • Assist residents to access community resources, working in groups and 1:1
  • Empower residents to exercise maximum control in their lives
  • Act as keyworker to residents forming links with families, carers and other professionals ensuring the customer’s dignity and wellbeing is put at the heart of service delivery
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of people, sometimes under difficult circumstances and respond under pressure
  • To be aware of and work in accordance with the Council’s adult protection policies and procedures in order to safeguard and promote the welfare of adults and to raise any concerns
  • Keep and maintain records of all work done, also tracking progress/ concerns
  • Complete reports where needed
  • Attend meetings and reviews where necessary
Requirements
  • At least 1 year experience with older people and people with disabilities
  • Experience in therapeutic group work
  • Person manual handling and personal care
  • Ability to respond under pressure, handle crisis situations calmly, quickly, and logically
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude is essential
  • Ability to use IT systems
  • Enhanced Adult DBS registered to the update service
