Youth Justice Officer 
Manchester
Umbrella Pay- £19.09 - £30 per hour
05/08/2024 – 2 months initially
Monday to Friday, 35 hrs/week – Office based (must be willing to work at other Manchester Youth Justice Offices when requested and work one late night each week on a rota basis)
  
Our client are seeking 2 Youth Justice Officer’s to deliver high quality services to young people and their families aimed at preventing and reducing offending.
  • Work closely with courts, young people and their families, managing a caseload
  • Make clear assessments in relation to risk of harm to the public, risk of re -offending and of offence related needs
  • Allocate appropriate and targeted resources to the reduction and prevention of youth offending
  • Enforce all sentences and Orders as appropriate
  • Deliver high quality face-to-face interventions/ programmes with young people and their parents/ carers based on principles of effective practice for all children and young people
  • Work with key partners to improve public protection, safeguard the needs of young people, and assist in the reduction of youth offending
  • Supervise cases, make appropriate referrals, manage risk, and develop high quality supervision plans based on assessments
  • Keep and maintain records of work and progress, prepare reports for court and other agencies
  • Attend meetings reviews and conferences where necessary
Requirements
  • Possess relevant qualification or equivalent relevant experience - DipSW, Degree in Social Work, Qualified Probation Officer PCEP (Professional Certificate in Effective Practice), NVQ Level 4 in Community Justice, YJEPC (Youth Justice Effective Practice Certificate)
  • Recent experience working in Youth Justice as a Case Officer
  • Able to complete timely and accurate assessments and interventions
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Focused, passionate, self-motivated and flexible
  • Enhanced Child DBS registered onto the update service
