Substance Use Recovery Worker
Slough
20/01/2025 – 3 months initially
Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 37 hrs/week
  • Effective case management of service users with substance use issues
  • Carry out comprehensive substance use assessments including assessment of personal strengths and identification of any risk factors
  • Formulate, monitor and review risk assessments and risk management plans that effectively safeguard and protect service users and families/carers from harm
  • Develop person centred recovery plans using a strengths-based approach in partnership with service users and others involved in their support network
  • Deliver and support harm reduction interventions, including needle exchange and access to physical health care including BBV and health screening
  • Delivery of psychosocial treatment interventions in groups and on a 1:2:1 basis
  • Supporting service users to access clinical interventions where required including engaging in clinical reviews
  • Ensuring access to Recovery Support interventions including onward referrals
  • Completing urine testing and dry blood spot testing following appropriate infection control procedures
  • Maintain a high-level belief in our service user's capacity to change and model a non-judgemental approach
  • Work with statutory and non-statutory agencies to meet needs
  • Communicate with partner agencies e.g. GPs, Safeguarding, Criminal Justice Partners
  • Maintain a high standard of case notes and prepare and present narrative reports as required
  • Actively participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and other service meetings
Requirements
  • Experience working with this client group, substance use knowledge
  • Demonstrable skills and knowledge in assessing risk presented by clients to themselves and others
  • Knowledge of engagement and intervention strategies
  • Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service
