Service Manager – Supported Living Service
Are you a passionate Service Manager looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Manager to work in a Supported Living service in Derby.
Pay Rates: £18.42- £24
Information the Role: Successful candidates will be offered 37.5hrs per week for a minimum of 3 months. The scheme is 24 hrs a day between 7:30am – 10pm.
Working days: flexible Monday – Sunday.
  
What you will be doing:

  • Plan, prioritize, and organise tasks and resources to meet deadlines and achieve positive outcomes, even under pressure.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate staff teams, maintaining low staff turnover and supporting professional development through effective performance management and supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, engage confidently with service users (including those who may be under the influence), and liaise effectively with professionals and stakeholders
  • Manage a team within a supported housing environment, working with vulnerable and diverse groups, particularly women affected by trauma, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health challenges
  • Comfortable working to and reporting on KPIs such as staff performance, service delivery, resident outcomes, budget adherence, and compliance
  • Financially astute, with experience of managing and monitoring budgets across services, ensuring value for money and accountability

  
Skills & Professional Characteristics needed:

  • Strong background in working in high-risk, high-needs and often chaotic environments, with the ability to remain calm, make effective decisions, and lead during crisis situations
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and able to act with confidence, fairness, and consistency when making difficult decisions or dealing with challenging behaviours
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and duty of care responsibilities within a supported accommodation setting
  • Ability to embed a person-centred approach that promotes dignity, choice, empowerment, and recovery for each individual resident
  • Experienced in reviewing, monitoring, and evaluating outcomes to ensure continuous improvement in the quality and effectiveness of support services
  • Competent IT skills, including use of case management systems, databases, Microsoft Office, and the ability to produce reports, analyse data, and track service impact
  • Approachable, emotionally intelligent, and resilient – able to support and challenge where necessary and create a culture of transparency, respect, and team cohesion.

  
Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience of managing a team within a supported housing environment, working with vulnerable and diverse groups
  • Experience working in supported living accommodation
  • Experience working with service users that struggle with drugs and alcohol
  • Required knowledge of conflict resolution & crisis management and managing customers with complex needs.
