Senior Facilities Officer
Location: Wandsworth
Salary: £27,501 - £32,000 per annum
This role will be for a 6 month fixed term contract or permanent
 
Are you an experienced Facilities professional looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic college environment? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Facilities Officer to help maintain our attractive, safe, and welcoming campus, ensuring it supports both staff and students in achieving their best.
 
The Role:

As the Senior Facilities Officer, you will assist the Facilities Management Team in overseeing the day-to-day operations, including maintenance, repair, health and safety compliance, and contractor management across our college sites. You will play a key role in supporting the learning environment by ensuring all facilities are well-maintained and compliant with statutory requirements. This position also involves providing occasional cover for the Facilities Manager and playing a critical role in emergency response.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Facilities Manager in the strategic and operational management of college facilities.
  • Lead on health and safety compliance, representing the department in committee meetings.
  • Oversee contractors on-site to ensure compliance with contracts and KPIs.
  • Manage the College helpdesk system and ensure timely responses to maintenance requests.
  • Ensure compliance with fire and security systems, and manage health and safety practices.
  • Conduct inspections of plant rooms, roofs, boilers, and other facilities to identify defects.
  • Assist with accidents, emergencies, and ensure a safe environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Requirements:
  • Experience in facilities management or a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle emergencies and provide out-of-hours cover when required.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
