Job Description
Salary: £13.26 an Hour
Full-Time (37 hours)
Contract: Three Months – Possibly beyond
Job Purpose
To assist the Responsive and Void Repairs / Planned Trade Team by undertaking duties including delivering materials to site, providing labouring support to trade Operatives, conducting property and garden clearances and transporting waste to the designated waste transfer station.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport, collect and deliver materials, plant and personnel etc. to site, as necessary, and undertake all associated loading and unloading duties.
- Undertake general manual labouring duties on site, e.g. Perform setup and clean-up tasks, groundworks, mixing and providing general assistance to Trade Operatives.
- Site Preparation, i.e. removing damaged plaster, brickwork etc. ready for redressing.
- Carry out clearances of Tenants’ furniture and belongings and transport to the designated waste disposal facility or designated store as directed by the Post-holder’s Line Manager.
- Lift heavy loads and navigate construction job site terrain.
- Undertake repetitive heavy manual general labouring duties.
- Report any repairs, maintenance, health and safety hazards, customer enquiries, breaches of tenancy, safeguarding or vulnerability that is identified during the post holder’s day-to-day activities.
- Complete any required written or electronic documentation and records including time monitoring to enable the accurate calculation of costs, salary and property information.
- Operate a fleet vehicle including identifying and reporting defects.
- Complete minor repairs and to accurately report repairs requiring the attention of a skilled tradesperson. Assist, or complete where possible, all types of non-technical repair work which requires nothing other than a ‘DIY’ degree of technical aptitude.
- Collect waste both proactively and as requested and keep the estates areas owned by the Council free from litter and rubbish.
- Provide support to the Estates Team to maintain areas of land owned by the Council ensuring that the land is left free of overgrowth, litter, graffiti and debris utilising appropriate tools and machinery.
