Children’s Residential Support Worker 
Children’s Home, Wrexham
10/02/2025 – 3 months initially 
Rota basis – working days, evenings, waking nights and weekends, 37 hrs/week
  • Support children/young people who have a range of needs such as early childhood trauma, attachment disorders, challenging behaviour and experience of multiple placement breakdowns to enable them to come to terms with their past to build resilience and the skills needed to achieve the best possible outcomes
  • Case managing, providing high quality and person centred care to children young people and their families based on an assessment of need
  • Contributing to the development and evaluation of care plans
  • Referring issues as appropriate that requires specialist or management support
  • Access to a range of stimulating and safe activities and experiences within and external to the home
  • Provide emotional, social and practical support to young people who can display challenging emotional and social difficulties
  • Establish relationships and links within the community to assist the child, young person and their family
  • Support with personal care and administration
  • Undertake routine household tasks e.g. cooking washing shopping and/or supporting young people to undertake these tasks
  • Keep and maintain accurate records of work
  • Lead a team of support workers on shift, ensuring high standards of care and personalised support for the children and young people
  • Supporting in the absence of the Registered Manager or Team Leader
  • Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports
  • Supervisions of staff
  • Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care Children and Young People or equivalent
  • Experience of shift leading a team of support workers
  • Experience and training in safeguarding
  • Experience of developing tailored care plans for children
