Housing Support Worker
Are you a passionate Housing Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to work in in a complex need service in Leigh. The role will be based across Wigan and Leigh.
Pay Rates: £13.62 – £16.00 per hour
- Information the Role: Successful candidates will be offered 37.5 hours per week for 2 months initially on an 8-week rolling rota that Includes a mix of flexi days, late shifts, and 2 weekends out of every 8.
What you will be doing:
- Conduct assessments to identify and prioritise individual needs
- Develop and implement SMART goal-based support plans
- Promote opportunities for skill development and independence
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date customer records
- Empower customers to understand their rights and participate in service delivery
- Co-produce support and move-on plans with customers and relevant stakeholders
- Review support and risk plans regularly or following significant changes
- Provide support with tenancy management and daily living skills
- Facilitate access to education, training, and employment opportunities
- Signpost to external services such as food banks and healthcare providers
- Support financial independence through budgeting and income maximisation
- Encourage safe medication self-management
- Lead group work and support initiatives
- Follow safeguarding procedures and escalate concerns appropriately
- Manage referrals and assess new customers
- Support housing management tasks, including income collection
- Report repairs and health and safety issues
- Prepare rooms and maintain a safe, clean environment
- Handle challenging situations with sensitivity and professionalism
- Build and maintain local partnerships to enhance support provision
- Complete administrative and operational duties as required
Specialist knowledge skills and experience
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs
- Ability to manage a caseload independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident in handling incidents and making informed decisions
- Competent IT and administrative skills
Desirable skills:
- Knowledge of trauma-informed or psychologically informed approaches
- Experience working in challenging environments
- Understanding of housing benefit systems
