Housing Repairs Surveyor

Location: Brentwood (CM15)
Hybrid: Yes – 4 days office/site visits & 1 day from home
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (37hrs per week)
Pay: £35.00ph paid weekly via umbrella – inside IR35
Duration: Ongoing Contract – Long Term, if everything goes well could lead to perm role
  
Duties
To assist with the operation of the clients responsive repairs service which exists to deliver a high standard of service to tenants, fulfilling this role within the framework of service objectives, the Clients corporate objectives and policies and any legal requirements.
  

  1. To oversee the partnering contractor’s management of void refurbishments in delivering high standard, value for money whilst auditing the raising of orders in accordance with the schedule of rates within set timescales and set lettable standards.

  

  1. To manage weekly void update meetings, progression of works and updating a shared monitoring sheet with timescales and costings. Must ensure good communication with housing services to achieve performance targets and dealing with technical enquiries.

  

  1. To exercise responsibility and control over relevant budgets such as void refurbishments, aids and adaptations or similar projects.

  

  1. To carry out right to buy, transfer, temporary accommodation and mutual exchange inspections at the request of Housing Options/Estates Management ensuring all inspections comply with guidelines with any additional works being post inspected.

  

  1. To carry out pre inspections relating to the responsive repair service to tenants to establish, what is required, whether it is the Client’s responsibility and to determine the priority to be given for its completion.

  

  1. To prepare when required the necessary works and specifications required for all aspects of the repairs and maintenance delivery which includes, day to day repairs, void refurbishment, fire damage, disrepair and adaptations.

  
Person Specification

  • Building or surveying qualifications or equivalent with a proven thorough knowledge of building maintenance with the ability to specify concisely remedial action.
  • Competent in the use of I.T packages, including word, excel and outlook
