Are you a passionate Team Manager looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Team Manager based in the young people service in East London.
Pay Rates: £16.00 – £18.29per hour Umbrella rates
Information the Role: Successful candidates will be offered a minimum of 3 months, working 37.5 Hours a week patterns are Monday to Friday and On-Call (9am-5pm or 10am- 6 pm).
What you will be doing:
- Line manages up to 8 Support Officers/Specialist Support Officers
- Conduct supervisions every 4 weeks and annual appraisals
- Lead team meetings, manage performance, and ensure accountability
- Oversee rota planning, staff deployment, and ensure adequate cover
- Ensure staff receive induction, training, and development opportunities
- Monitor service quality through audits, compliance checks, and performance reviews
- Promote safeguarding and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures
- Support staff in delivering high-quality, customer-led support
- Maintain accurate records and ensure use of support databases
- Liaise with external professionals and agencies to manage referrals and assessments
- Encourage customer participation and feedback
- Ensure implementation of medication management procedures (where applicable)
- Participate in the management on-call rota
Skills & Professional Characteristics needed:
- Confident in leading team meetings, managing performance and promoting accountability
- Excellent Knowledge of Safeguarding and Relevant Legislation
- Up-to-date understanding of legislation and government frameworks
- Strong safeguarding knowledge for adults and children and understanding of housing/welfare needs
- Effective Organisation and Ability to Manage Competing Deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, handle competing demands, and meet service targets
- Skilled in rota planning, audit scheduling, and balancing operational pressures
- Clear Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
- Able to communicate professionally in writing and verbally with staff, partners, and external agencies.
- Experienced in preparing reports, file notes, and responding to customer feedback.
- Commitment to Quality, Participation, and IT Competence
- Promotes service quality through audits, monitoring, and user participation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident managing support databases and performance data.
- Proven experience in team leadership and staff supervision
- Strong safeguarding knowledge (children and adults)
Essential Requirements:
- Strong Leadership and Supervision Skills
- Proven experience in line management, supervision and appraisals
- Understanding of housing, welfare, and resettlement needs for young people
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and service targets
- Confident in rota planning, audits, and operational oversight
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and support database systems
- Ability to promote service quality, customer involvement, and staff accountability
