Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
Pay: £31.54ph paid weekly via umbrella (no CIS/LTD)

Duties
To support the Client in providing a high quality cyclical, planned and reactive repairs and maintenance service to internal and external elements of occupied and unoccupied properties, public buildings and associated external areas.
Carry out to a high standard all aspects of service, repair, maintain and install gas hot water and heating systems and appliances. To carry out a wide range of gas and other associated works in accordance with contract requirements and The Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998. Undertake a broad range of multi-skilled repair activities outside of the basic trade such as minor plumbing, electrical and finishing works to provide a comprehensive repair service.
Including but not limited to:-

  • Gas servicing of appliances and gas carcasses in line with the annual Gas Servicing Programme.
  • Experience and knowledge to diagnose faults, repair and maintain gas appliances, central heating & hot water systems and components including traditional and modern boilers, circulation pumps, motorised valves, radiators, alterations to pipe work (gas and water), central heating controls etc. Drain down and recommission systems to carry out repairs.
  • Experience and knowledge to install a modern boiler, gas fire, warm plan, balanced flue wall heater Including wiring controls and power from adjacent spur. Power flush to a central heating system.
  • Carry out the replacement of immersion heaters/elements wired to local spur.
  • Make good to holes in brickwork etc. after the removal/renewal of an appliance. Make good / repair finishes disturbed.
  • All to current legislative standards, performance standards and in accordance with Hackney Housing specifications and procedures.

Work at heights from a temporary access e.g. scaffolding, ladders, mobile tower and erect temporary work platforms.
Assess works, diagnose faults and decide on the best remedy or rectification. Accurately measure, quantify and list materials requirements.
