Recycling Officer x 2 – Tendring District Council

Temporary, Full Time

£30.00 per hour PAYE

Location: Clacton on Sea

Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Tendring District Council to recruit two Recycling Officers on 6 month, full-time basis. Please note this role is based at Clacton on Sea, and you will be required to work on site 5 days per week.

The Role:

Tendring District Council are seeking two Recycling Officers to join our Waste and Recycling Team on a six-month fixed term contract to support the team introduce simpler recycling compliant collection service to the residents of Tendring. The post will be based in Clacton and you must have access to a car for travel around district.

The role will involve, but not limited to:

• Kerbside compliance monitoring of our waste and recycling contractor
• Customer and contractor engagement and education to promote all aspects of recycling and waste minimisation
• Attending meetings with contractors, helping to ensure TDC are Simpler Recycling compliant
• Auditing of communal bin stores sites and installation of additional recycling provisions, customer engagement and education
• Introducing, supporting and promoting food waste collection provisions to communal properties
• Container deliveries to households
• Handling public contact via telephone and emails, as well as undertaking administrative and operational tasks to support the effective and efficient operation of the Council waste and recycling service
