Social Work Assistant
Birmingham
3 moths initially 
(2x full time and 1x part time)
Full time - Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 5.15pm, 36.5 hrs/week - Hybrid
  
Our client are seeking 3 Social Work Assistant’s to join their Children in Care Service based in Birmingham.
  • Work alongside and support social workers who safeguard and promote the welfare of the most vulnerable children and young people
  • Undertaking direct work with children and their families, providing practical day to day support
  • Ensure the well-being and safety of the child/young person is paramount through analysing all necessary information to complete assessments that comply with statutory requirements
  • Supervising family time sessions
  • Ensure that contact requirements and procedures are followed
  • Observe and take notes, providing a written report on the required template on how the contact has proceeded
  • Offer support to both the children and parents/ family members
  • Provide parenting support and guidance to parents during family time
  • Provide emotional support to the children should any emotions arise from the contact
  • Liaise and work with other professionals and agencies to achieve optimal outcomes and meet needs
  • Accurately keep and maintain records of work done
  • Attend meetings and reviews where necessary 
Requirements 
  • Experience working with children and/or their families in a care setting
  • Knowledge of the framework applying to working with children and families
  • Experience liaising with agencies to get help for children and/or their families
  • DBS registered to the update service
