02/12/2024 – 2 months initially
Rota basis working including weekends – 7.30 am - 3.00pm and 2.00pm - 10pm (will on occasion include awake night and sleep ins)
Our client are seeking a Residential Social Care Worker to join a team based in a three bedded children's home in Mansfield.
- Provide physical and emotional care and support to young people
- Support with education, life skills and health needs
- Support with daily skills and get the young people involved in these duties
- Provide practical help, advice and guidance on issues affecting them
- Work with young people with challenging behaviour, to affect change and positive outcomes
- Act as an advocate for the young people
- Listen to the young people’s views and wishes and act on their feedback
- Contribute to and implement childcare plans and risk assessments
- Liaise and work effectively with colleagues, other agencies and service users in the interests of the young people
- Ensure that managers are informed of significant matters arising within the home
- Keep and maintain accurate records of work
- Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary
- UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
- Must have a minimum of 6 months experience of working with children, young people or adults, either in a voluntary, work or other relevant setting
- Must have an understanding of the safeguarding issues which may impact on children in care
- Must have an understanding of physical, emotional, cultural, racial and individual needs in a residential setting
- Basic knowledge of the Children Act 1989 (and subsequent amendments) and other field related legislation
- Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service
