Personal Advisor - Children and Adults Service - Southwark
Are you a passionate, dedicated Personal Advisor looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Personal Advisor to join a Children and Adults Service based in Southwark.
Umbrella Rate: £25.40 per hour
Duration: 22/11/2023 – 3 months initially
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.15pm, 36 hrs/week
Personal Advisor role: Full JD Available
- Direct work with up to 22 young people aged 18 and over who are currently in care, and those who have left care and are eligible for leaving care services
- Support to make a successful transition to adulthood through practical and planned interventions
- Visit the young people at a minimum of 8 weekly
- Assess their needs, manage risks, safeguard, and promote positive outcomes
- Identify the impact on young people of their own or other’s mental ill health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, physical ill health and disability, including those that may indicate risk
- Pathway plans/ records of the visits are shared with young people and written up within 72 hours, these are written in a personalised way with young people a minimum of every 6 months, which pans out to be one completed week
- Statutory reports are required whenever there is a significant change of circumstance
- Routinely initiate contact with young people and their network in between visits
- Demonstrate friendliness, reliability, and good listening skills
- Support team members through conversion, joint visits, team meetings and supervision
- Develop strong, trusting working relationships
- Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary
- Maintain records and data as required, ensuring that case files are organised and up to date
- Provide written and verbal reports, which are concise, informative and based on analysis of complex evidence, for a range of audiences, including young people, reviews, panels and other formal meetings, and court
Essential Requirements
- Experience of working directly with vulnerable children and young adults, implementing effective interventions with successful outcomes
- Knowledge of the health, education, training and work experience needs of young people and how these can be met
- Understanding of the needs of care leavers
- Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory framework
- Ability to work well in a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UK
- Must already have an Enhanced Adult DBS registered to the update service
