Housing Surveyor

Are you ready to take a leading role in shaping the future of housing in Central Bedfordshire? We are seeking a talented Housing Surveyor to join our team at Central Bedfordshire Council. This permanent position offers a competitive salary range of GBP45.00 - GBP48.00 per annum and the flexibility of hybrid working. As part of our Repairs, Voids, and Maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in inspecting homes to prioritize repairs, adaptations, and improvement work, ensuring our residents have safe and comfortable living environments.

• Manage diverse workloads, often to defined timescales, on a range of projects.
• Take the lead on design, procurement, and administration of various refurbishment, responsive repairs, and cyclical maintenance projects.
• Contribute directly to enhancing the quality of housing and living standards for our community.

Preferred Requirements:

• Proven experience in prioritizing and managing repair projects in housing or similar environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, managing the full project lifecycle from design through to completion.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, ensuring smooth collaboration with various teams and suppliers.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail in identifying structural and maintenance issues.
• Proficiency in using relevant software and technology to support surveying and project management tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant degree or professional qualification in Surveying, Building Maintenance, or a related field.
• Accreditation from a recognized professional body such as RICS or CIOB.
• Valid driver's license and access to own transportation.
