26/01/2024 – 3 months initially
Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5pm, 37 hrs/week – Hybrid
- Support looked after children and young people to see their parents or other family members safely and supervised, in venues and out in the community
- Plan sessions appropriately, booking venues and liaising with the foster carer and family
- Collect and transport children to and from family time
- Supervise all aspects of family times
- Offer support to both the children and parents/ family members
- Provide parenting support and guidance to parents during family time
- Provide emotional support to the children should any emotions arise from the contact
- Record sessions on files in a timely manner
- Prepare statements for court when needed
- Work as a team around the child
- To be available outside of traditional working patterns including evening and weekends to provide support to children, families and carers when it is needed
- Must have valid UK drivers licence and own vehicle to be able to use vehicle for family time appointments
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in respect of working with children and their families or equivalent
- Experience of direct work with vulnerable children and their families
- An understanding of the key pieces of policy, guidance and legislation which govern children’s social care
- Understanding of child development and the effect of stress and trauma on child development
- Ability to build relationships and deliver interventions to children, families and carers
- DBS registered to the update service
