Stockport
Pay- up to £300 per day
16/10/2024 – 1 month initially
Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 37 hrs/week – Hybrid (at least 1 day in the office)
Our client are seeking an EHCP Caseworker to join one of the following teams, EHC needs assessment Team, Maintaining EHC plan Pre 16 and Maintaining EHC plans Post 16.
- Support capacity across EHC needs assessments and existing EHC plans from 0-25
- Manage a caseload involving complex children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities
- Effectively and immediately manage any emergency situations which may occur at school placement
- Formulate, draft and review high quality EHC plans by collating information from a range of professionals through the statutory needs assessment process
- Ensure that all casework is legally compliant whilst remaining responsive to the needs of children and young people
- Ensure all LAC children are appropriately placed within a timely manner adhering to specific LAC legislation
- Prepare cases for/attend decision making panels as required and deliver outcomes following panel in the most appropriate format
- Keep in touch with the families through the process, keeping them informed of all updates
- Manage relationships with families, young people and professionals effectively
- Use restorative approaches when dealing with challenging situations and when delivering difficult decisions/ recommendations
- Chair and organise conciliation meetings, and assist in preparing information, where parents are in disagreement to prevent appeals to First Tier Tribunals
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade A-C) or above
- Experience writing and reviewing EHC Plans
- Knowledge of relevant SEND legislation and Code of Practice, and an understanding of its implications in practice
- Knowledge of school practices and processes, and how pupils with SEND are likely to make good progress
- Extensive experience of multi-agency working
- High level of oral communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations, face to face, by telephone or in a large group
- Enhanced DBS registered to the update service
