Early Help Support Worker 
Rochdale
28/10/2024 – 6 months initially
Monday to Friday, 8am – 4.45pm, 37 hrs/ week – Hybrid
  
The team is a multi-agency team which comprises of Social Workers, referral information coordinators, Early Help workers; managers and multiagency partners. The team is the front door for referrals for the children and families and offers a bespoke service for both families and professionals; making referrals in respect of families. 
  • Support the Early Help Advisers in researching their allocated cases in the EHASH
  • Completing the triage/screening and information gathering processes within the set timescales
  • Contacting parents/carers and significant others
  • Completing home visits as required
  • Engage children and their families in the assessment and action planning element of the EHA/TAF process or another agreed Early Help intervention
  • Gather key information alongside providing advice and information on a wide range of identified needs; early help support available and identifying safeguarding matters
  • Ensure that families who are referred receive effective and timely responses from a range of services to identify and reduce risk, harm and impact; safeguard children and offer early help support and interventions
  • Ensure timely referrals take place to Children’s Social Care or Early Help services
  • Liaise and negotiate with other teams, agencies and organisations
  • Complete and maintain a high standard of record keeping when recording and sharing information in relation to children and families that accurately reflect the situation with an ability to analyse this information and make clear recommendations regarding outcomes
  • Attend meetings and reviews where necessary
Requirements
  • Experience providing support to vulnerable children, young people and families
  • Good knowledge and understanding of services available to support vulnerable children, young people and families
  • Experience of working with families with complex needs and ability to complete assessments  i.e. Early Help assessment and risk assessments
  • Experience and knowledge in different Family based assessments, particularly the Early Help Assessment Framework
  • Experience and knowledge on the Early Help offer and its relation to higher level services on the Child Needs and Response framework
  • Experience of working on packages of support in a multi- disciplinary setting
  • Enhanced Child DBS that is registered to the update service
