Children’s Residential Worker
Children’s Home, Hendon, Barnet
Umbrella Pay- £18.50 per hour (sleep in – £60 per night)
21/10/2024 – 3 months initially
Rota basis – 8am to 8.30pm (day shift), 8pm to 8.30am (night shift) – Office based
  • Support 2 young people in a 2 bed home
  • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of the young people’s care plans
  • Provide practical and emotional support
  • Ensure their needs are recognised and met
  • Ensure education is promoted and supported and that the Child’s attendance in education is maintained
  • Promote positive behaviour and manage difficult situations
  • Support and develop the social skills of the young people
  • Organise and supervise leisure activities such as holidays and camps
  • Protect the young people from harm in and outside the home
  • Raise any serious issues or concerns directly with the Registered Manager
  • Take part in household duties such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, showing the children and encouraging the young people to keep their rooms tidy
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with parents, social workers, schools and other professionals
  • Assist the management in the home with compliance for Ofsted
  • Attend meetings and training when required
Requirements
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience of working in a Children’s home
  • Ability to engage with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Ability to develop and maintain care plans for children
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service
