Bradford
3 months initially
Rota basis between the hours of 9am – 12pm, 37 hrs/week (waking night would be considered also)
- Direct work with children and young people with learning disabilities and autism, aged 5 – 18 years old
- Provide emotional and physical support to meet their needs
- Implement care plans, risk assessments and health plans
- Devise behaviour management plans
- Assist children with their personal care and hygiene
- Ensure children and young people are supported to go to school, enjoy leisure activities, stay healthy and also safe
- Supervising children and young people overnight on trips, holiday’s as required
- Make sure children receive any medicines at the right dosage and at the prescribed times
- Undertake domestic tasks such as shopping, cleaning and cooking
- Ensure that records and filed are kept up to date
- Able to be mobile to attend meetings, appointments at Doctors, Schools, Social Work Offices across the District as required
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
- Must have a minimum of 12 months experience of working with children and young people
- Must have an understanding of the safeguarding issues which may impact on children in care
- Must have an understanding of physical, emotional, cultural, racial and individual needs in a residential setting
- Child DBS registered to the update service
